Therapist of the Quarter – Tara Helwig

Therapist of the Quarter

I studied Speech-Language Pathology at Misericordia University in Dallas, PA. While I was at Misericordia University, I was chosen in 2010 for Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges and published in a book for my accomplishments. I also completed research in Speech-Language Pathology which was presented nationally and locally. In doing so, I co-facilitated research in the following areas: Qualitative Analysis of Cluttering; Comparison of Communication in Triplets with Autism, Stuttering, and No Diagnosis; and Cognition, Language, and Functional Independence in an Adult Following a Childhood Right Hemispherectomy. Misericordia University offered a combined Bachelor’s and Master’s program that was to be completed in 5 years. However, I completed the program in 4.5 years because I wanted to start treating and changing people’s lives.

Therapist of the Quarter – Terri Mathis

Therapist of the Quarter

Terri started with ProCare Therapy on December 6, 2010, and since the very beginning, she has been a major asset to the company. Terri has over 20 years of experience in the field of speech-language pathology and her background includes working with various populations in all types of settings from Alaska to the Navajo Reservation in Arizona. She has worked in the clinical and medical settings but her passion is working with children in the public school setting.

Therapist of the Quarter

Katherine Barnes has worked with ProCare since September 2010. She received a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders as well as her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Worcester State College in Worcester, MA. After completing her Master's degree, Katherine has worked in both skilled nursing facilities and school-based settings.

Therapist of the Quarter – Charlotte Steckelberg

Therapist of the Quarter

My name is Charlotte Steckelberg and I have been an Occupational Therapist for almost 20 years. I was a COTA prior to becoming an OTR. I obtained my bachelor’s of science degree from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The reason I chose this profession was that I really wanted to work with Autism. In my fieldwork, I also found that I enjoyed working in the school system and in psychiatric settings.
