Therapist of the Quarter – Amy Zerhusen

Therapist of the Quarter

My name is Amy Zerhusen, and I have been a speech-language pathologist for over 7 years. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in communications from Thomas More College and my master’s degree in Speech- Language Pathology from Miami University in Oxford, OH. My career in pediatrics began in Cincinnati, OH, working for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

AmyZerhusenWhile at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, I gained valuable experience working with various speech-related disorders including autism, apraxia, fluency, resonance, and general speech and language. I served on various committees including the Fluency committee, the Augmentative and Alternative Communications Committee, and I was the chair for the Autism Committee. In 2005, I was invited to speak on the topic of fluency at the Pennsylvania Speech and Language Association’s annual conference, and I have co-written an article for the Stuttering Center of Western Pennsylvania entitled “Fun Treatment Activities.” I am also trained in the Lidcombe parent-training program for preschoolers and school age children.

I currently live in Park Hills, KY, with my husband of 5 ½ years and have been with ProCare since the fall of 2009. I am currently placed within the Boone County, KY School system and specialize in working with pre-school and school age children. I would like to thank ProCare for giving me the ability to work with the children of Boone County, KY, and would also like to thank ProCare for this recognition and the opportunity to share my thoughts with others.
